    Feds charge Montville man with four bank robberies

    Forty-nine-year-old Anthony Hall of Montville has been charged by federal officials with robbing four banks from Ledyard to Westport between January 2008 and July 2009.He was allegedly armed when he committed three of the robberies, including the two that took place in southeastern Connecticut.

A grand jury sitting in U.S. District Court in New Haven returned an indictment on Tuesday charging him with three counts of armed robbery and one count of bank robbery.

According to the indictment, Hall is accused of robbing $2,975 from a Putnam Bank branch in Ledyard on Jan. 20, 2008, $7,551 from a Webster Bank branch in Waterford on June 11, 2009, $6,775 from a New Alliance Bank branch in East Haven on June 24, 2009, and $9,140 from a Hudson Valley Bank branch in Westport on July 20, 2009.
