Groton attorney Thomas G. Moukawsher is among 15 attorneys nominated by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy Thursday to serve as Superior Court judges.

Moukawsher is a founding member of the Moukawsher & Walsh law firm, which has offices in Groton and West Hartford. A Democrat, he served as state representative for Groton and New London from 1991 to 1995 and was a Groton town councilor from 1987 to 1990.

“I am deeply honored and grateful that Governor Malloy has chosen to nominate me to this important post,” Moukawsher said. “If confirmed, I will commit myself to advance the cause of justice in our society, applying fairly the rule of law to all matters that come before me.”

The other nominees include Michael A. Albis of New Haven, Thomas D. Colin of Ridgefield, Melanie L. Cradle of Middlefield, Karen A. Goodrow of Chester, Sheila A. Huddleston of West Hartford, Michael P. Kamp of Hamden, Charles T. Lee of Greenwich, Jason M. Lobo of Suffield, Shelley A. Marcus of Branford, Maurice B. Mosley of Waterbury, Andrew Roraback of Goshen, Hope Colleen Seeley of Coventry, Robyn Stewart Johnson of Glastonbury and Anthony D. Truglia of Stamford.

Though there are 30 vacancies in Superior Court, Malloy said he would only be filling 15 at this time.

The governor also nominated Judge Christine E. Keller of Hartford to ascend to the state Appellate Court. Keller has served as a Superior Court judge since August 1993.
