Preston man arrested after fight

Preston — A Preston man was arrested Tuesday after state police said he was involved in an argument and physical altercation in a local home.

Peter James Contino, 59, of 8 Holdsworth Road was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Police said they responded to a Preston home about 1:20 a.m. for a report of a disturbance in which two people sustained minor injuries. Police arrested Contino, who was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond pending his arraignment Tuesday in Norwich Superior Court.
