Man to get 8 years in New London stabbing

A 56-year-old New London man is expected to receive an eight-year prison sentence after pleading guilty on Tuesday to charges he stabbed a man in the neck in 2021.

Charles Zeigler, with a last known address on Colman Street in New London, stabbed a man on July 13, 2021, following a dispute outside a Williams Street apartment. The victim was seriously injured.

Zeigler entered his guilty plea to the charge of first-degree assault in New London Superior Court. The eight years in prison will be followed by five years of probation. Zeigler will be sentenced on Jan. 22, 2024.
