PILL DELIVERS FOR DEFENDERS IN 13TH

Brett Pill doubled home Brock Bond in the bottom of the 13th inning Thursday to lift the Connecticut Defenders to a 6-5, come-from-behind victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an Eastern League game at Dodd Stadium.
Pill was 3-for-6 with a solo homer in the sixth and an RBI single in the seventh, finishing the night with three RBI to add to his single-season team record of 105. Pill's double in the 13th came with two outs. The Fisher Cats led 5-0.
Bond also had three hits and Mike Mooney led off the four-run seventh inning with a home run for the Defenders (81-56).
