I Had A Week, How About You?

Ok, so now that blogging is like a "job", it puts a whole different spin on things. A spin that when you fall off the face of the earth for a week and a half, it is probably frowned upon. But seriously, people, I have had a week. So, pardon my absence. And forgive me for what will probably be a very boring blog post, but I want to tell you about what has kept me from enlightening you with my brilliance and humor.

    Saturday (April 2)--MOVING DAY

This was "official" Moving Day, even though we already had another moving day two weeks before. This was U-Haul Truck day - You Are Not Living In Your House Anymore Day. After I dropped Little Man off at his Auntie's and I stopped for Flanders donuts for the moving crew (I am a doughnut snob and pretty much will not eat anything but Flanders donuts. They don't have a web page, or I would hook you up. But trust me when I tell you that you should be eating them. Probably not every day or anything...but treat yourself every now and again. And while you are at it, you should also buy their apple strudel), I went home and cried because the UHaul was there. I couldn't pretend we weren't moving anymore. My job was to finish packing up the small stuff, clothes and such, and then to clean the house as the guys did all the heavy lifting. Thank God my sister and nephews came to help, or I wouldn't have made it very far. I realized at about 6 p.m. that night that all I had drank alllllll day was a Snapple. I was seriously dehydrated and no amount of drinking was going to fix it. Soooo....

    Sunday (April 3)--UNPACKING DAY

...I woke up feeling seriously hungover, which is a little frustrating when you are pregnant. I was pretty much incapacitated for the first half of the day, which I think started at like 4:30 a.m. because Little Man wasn't quite used to his new surroundings. We did as much unpacking at the in-laws as we could handle. The Hubbs got much more accomplished than I did. Luckily for us, the in-laws were on vacation, so we could get this done at our own pace.

    Monday (April 4)--BACK TO WORK

At this point, I needed a weekend for my weekend. I was wiped. And the previously 5 minute drive to daycare now takes 26 minutes (yes, I time everything), plus the 10 minutes to work after that. This all factors in to a much earlier start to our morning, which makes me much more tired. Oh, and of course work is INSANE which I don't see any change in in the near future. Awesome.

    Tuesday (April 5)--POOP SOUP DAY

Tuesday starts at about 4:30 a.m. with a non-typical crying coming from Little Man's room, which is due to the giant diaper full of diarrhea that he has. I try to convince myself that this was a one-time occurrence, but I kinda knew that wasn't the case. I was home from work and what followed was essentially 8 hours of Little Man peeing out of his butt. Six pajama changes for him, 3 baths, mopping of floors, wardrobe changes for Mommy. Ugh. I was wondering why something like this has to happen during a week like this. Murphy's Law, I guess.

    Wednesday (April 6)--FINAL CLEANING DAY

We were planning on finishing cleaning the house after work. Unfortunately, Little Man couldn't go to school because to the previous day's Poopsplosion, so the Hubbs had to stay home. Which meant that instead of just going to the house to clean after work and then going to pick up Little Man from school, I had to go from work in New London, back to Montville so the Hubbs could get to the house and the dump before it closed. Then I had to take Little Man to Niantic, drive around in the car for a while until he fell asleep, finish cleaning the house, drive back to Montville and then pile in the car again to pre-sign the documents for the closing tomorrow.

    Thursday (April 7)--CLOSING DAY

I actually have little to report about this day, except at 4 p.m. we no longer owned our house. The in-laws returned from vacation, and I was still exhausted.

    Friday (April 8)--JUST FRIDAY

I have little to report about Friday either. I was really, REALLY looking forward to relaxing all weekend. I thought I would start by going to sleep at 8 pm. Woot! Living it up. But I'll tell you what...

    Saturday (April 9)--OH CRAP

...I felt refreshed when I woke up at 5:30 with nine and half hours under my belt. Well, that was until about 9:30 a.m. when I realized that I had what Little Man had on Tuesday. I will spare you all the details, other than to tell you it sucked and it was really not how I was intending to spend my first day of rest in what seemed like an eternity. Which brings us to...

    TODAY

Finally doing some poop-free relaxing. Mustered up enough motivation to type this blog. Which--you know sometimes when you talk about things they don't seem as bad? Yeah, writing this blog just verified that last week sucked. It was hard, and long, and I could have done without all the poop. And did I mention work is also insane? Oh, and also my mother has Alzheimer's and in the midst of all of this stuff, she has forgotten the last 20 years of her life with my step-father and doesn't know she is married? Yeah. Too much on my plate.

But the bright spot of the week? Little Man! Who has handled the transition like a champ and who was happy even when he was pooping his brains out. He definitely makes weeks like this easier.

If you made it this far--I warned you right in the beginning that this would be the most boring post ever. But how about you? How was your week?
