    What's In Your Easter Stool?

    Little Man's Easter Stool

No, "Easter Stool" is not code name for something inappropriate. I just decided that buying an Easter basket to fill for Little Man was kind of silly, and I wanted to find something else that he could actually use to hold all of his Easter Bunny goodies. So, I bought a Mickey Mouse stool, which he needed anyways, and used that as my "basket." I used to be way more crafty and creative than this, but this is about all I am capable of these days.

Anyhow, the hubbs and I pretty much refuse to buy crap for Little Man. One, because he doesn't need it, and two, because WE don't need it. So, he gets LESS stuff for any given holiday, but the stuff he gets is good stuff. This is really his first Easter that matters in terms of the Easter Bunny (and by the way, how does a holiday about the resurrection of Jesus Christ get turned into a gift giving holiday where a giant bunny comes to your house in your sleep and brings you gifts? I mean, I was raised Catholic and am now a hard-core non-religious person so I am not at all offended by this drastic turn of events...but I just can't quite see the leap. But whatever, it's a chance to give Little Man a few gifts, so I'll take it!).

So, the Mickey stool got filled with some fun new toys. First, I bought two new books. I went with If You Give a Cat A Cupcake by Laura Numeroff because he loves If You Give a Pig A Pancake (so do I!!) and the Cat goes to a science museum and sees dinosaurs and monkeys and goes to the beach and swims, and works out and all sorts of fun stuff that Little Man loves. I also randomly picked out Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle because it has fun sea creatures that are camouflaged by clear plastic overlay pages with sea grass or coral reefs on them. You have to flip back the page to find the sea creature hidden underneath. I'm hoping Little Man loves it!!

I also am adding to Little Man's Chuggington collection with two more trains (Emory and Action Chugger for those Chuggington fans out there--he already has Koko, Wilson, Brewster, Mtambo and the monkey and elephant cars) and a set of tracks. He has been perfectly content so far driving his trains over...well...anything, but I thought he may like some tracks to upgrade to!

Finally, I bought him a set of 5 model dinosaurs (Niiinohhs!! RRRaaawwwwwrrrrr!!). Since the move to the in-laws, where we have to pass the Dinosaur Place twice a day, Little Man has taking quite a liking to the Niinohhs. I will usually stop in the parking lot with him on the way home so we can get an up-close view of the teee-reck and we can roar at each other (while we are talking about it--any feedback on the Dinosaur Place? I'm thinking he's too young and also, I have heard it is expensive--what do you think??). Again, I'm hoping he loves them!

So, what's in your Easter Stool...err...basket??
