    We Saved Some Babies

Today was the March for Babies, and Little Man and I had a pretty good day. The weather wasn't great, but at least it wasn't rainy and cold, so I won't complain (although I still don't understand how meteorologists can't give me a correct forecast 24 hours in advance...).

So, what did we think of the walk? Well, the walk itself was nice, although very crowded. We have never been to Bluff Point before, so we did enjoy the scenic trails. Because the trails are a little narrower at points, there tended to be some serious rubbernecking, which for a Mama who likes to move, it was a little frustrating. I think they would have been better off possibly starting people in waves to keep from Such. A. Slow. Start. Or else I needed to be in the front of the line, because I was experiencing mild trail rage.

I have only done one other fundraising event, Katelynn's Ride, up in Western Mass for Dana Farber and The Jimmy Fund. I don't know if I was comparing this event to that, but I was kind of expecting...I don't know...more. I mean, I raised over $500 and when I turned my money in no one acknowledged that feat. When I did Katelynn's ride, the volunteers working the registration cheered for everyone, no matter how much money you raised. They really made you feel like you were making a difference, doing something important. I don't know...that sounds petty...but I have been so impressed with the people at March of Dimes up until this point, I expected that to continue through the event itself.

A couple of things we did like? Umm...Steve Elci and Friends! I have heard of Steve Elci, but this is our first time seeing him and Little Man was all about it. He was the youngest one up there, dancing a little bit, but really taking it all in and when we got back in the car, he was showing me his new move (honking the choo choo horn). I can't wait to take him to see them again, hopefully for a longer show.

Little Man was also a big fan of the Mystic Aquarium Touch Tank, fearlessly touching crabs, lobster, horseshoe crab, snail, and sea stars (please don't call them star fish, people. They are not fish, as we were kindly reminded!). He truly cannot get enough of his fishies and animals and I cannot wait for the Boston Aquarium next weekend!
