Injured Daniels misses practice

UConn junior DeAndre Daniels missed his second straight practice Tuesday.

Daniels continues to receive treatment for a high right ankle sprain. He suffered the injury late in the first half of Saturday's 82-71 win at Rutgers. He returned to play in the second half but was limited.

His status is day-to-day.

UConn (16-4, 4-3) will practice again on Wednesday and then host Houston (11-9, 3-4) on Thursday night at Gampel Pavilion.The Cougars won the first meeting, 75-71, on Dec. 31 in Texas.

Daniels ranks second on the team in scoring at 13.4 points and rebounding at 5.6 per game.
