    Big Seventh Inning Lifts Fitch Over NFA In ECC Large

    Norwich - Anthony Turgeon hit a two-run double as Fitch High School scored seven times in the top of the fourth inning to beat Norwich Free Academy, 8-6, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division baseball game Tuesday at Dickenman Field.

    Bobby Shepherd singled and scored twice for Fitch (6-3, 2-1).

    Ron Harrington went 2-for-3 with four RBI and scored for the Wildcats (5-4, 2-1).

    In other games:

    n Rew Wilson singled home Jon Nazarko with one-out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give East Lyme a 5-4 victory over Woodstock Academy in the ECC Large Division.

    After the Centaurs (3-5, 0-3) rallied from a 4-2 deficit to tie the game on Justin Szela's two-run, two-out double in the top of the inning, Nazarko led off the bottom of the inning by reaching on an error, stole second and was bunted to third before Wilson singled to left.

    Dylan Delacruz was 2-for-4 and scored twice for the Vikings (5-3, 2-1) and Wilson finished 2-for-4 with two RBI. Andrew Fuller had a pair of singles for Woodstock.

    ■ Jose Santiago and Zach Hope had RBI doubles for Windham in a 4-2 win over Stonington in the ECC Medium Division. Stanley Gil added a double and a triple for Windham (2-6, 1-2). Pat Girard had a triple for Stonington (3-5, 1-2).

    n Ryan Brahm had a triple and a home run with three RBI for St. Bernard in a 6-3 win over Putnam in the ECC Small Division. Tyler Wild added a double for St. Bernard (5-4, 3-2). Bob Poissant had two hits and an RBI for Putnam (1-8, 0-4).

    n Matt Young tied the game with a two-run double in the sixth inning and Bacon Academy won it with three runs in the seventh, beating Killingly 5-2 in the ECC Medium Division. Bacon scored without the benefit of a hit in the seventh, capitalizing on two errors and a wild pitch. Chris Zbin earned the victory for the Bobcats (6-3, 2-1). Killingly is 4-4, 2-1.

    n Jack Rafferty was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored as Tourtellotte Memorial defeated Lyman Memorial 5-3 in the ECC Small Division. Tourtellotte scored three times in the bottom of the sixth for the victory. Scott Murphy was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Lyman (5-4, 2-2). Tourtellotte is 3-4, 2-2.

    ■ Matt Furman with 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBI for Montville in an 18-3 win over Griswold in the ECC Medium Division. Taylor Lewis added a fifth inning grand slam for Montville (7-1, 3-0). Jordan Robillard had a double for Griswold (4-6, 0-3).

    ■ Kyle Turnier had three hits, including a triple for Waterford in a 7-0 win over Ledyard in the ECC Large Division. Pat Quinn and Terence Farina added triples for Waterford (5-2, 2-1). Ledyard is 5-3, 1-2.

    ■ James Turner went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs to highlight Plainfield's 16-hit attack as the Panthers defeated Wheeler, 16-5, in the ECC Small Division. Steven Vanase and Jeff Buchert added two hits and three RBI apiece for the Panthers (5-4, 3-1) and Andrew Esposito went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Matt Gavitt had two hits (including a home run) and drove in three runs for the Lions (4-4, 1-3).

    n Manny Guiterrez went 3-for-4 with three RBI as St. Thomas More beat Marianapolis Prep, 7-3. Ben Jeffries hit a solo home run for T-More (3-1). Marianapolis is 2-2.
