    Ellen Myshka

    East Lyme - Ellen (Sullivan) Myshka, of Niantic and formerly of Montville, died on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, in the company of her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

    Ellen was born Sept. 22, 1933, in New London, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Lavelle) Sullivan. She was a 1951 graduate of Chapman Technical High School.

    Following graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, John Stanley Myshka Jr. After 54 years of marriage, John predeceased Ellen on Dec. 25, 2005.

    Ellen is survived by her four sons and three daughters, Michael Myshka and his girlfriend, Christine Zeppieri, and their daughter, Sydney; Lori and Warren Rogers and children Beth, Christopher and Patrick; Jeffrey and Susan Myshka and children Joe, Kim and Kacy; John and Zhaolian Myshka and daughters Jun Xian, Jun Jing and Ellen; Teresa Aimetti and sons Daniel, Bryan and Sean; Rick and Fatima Myshka and children Tory and Ian; and Pam and Scott Dombrowski and children Scott, Kyle and Rylee. Ellen is also survived by her sister, Mary Bassett, and her brother, Michael Sullivan of New London. She also will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, and their children.

    Ellen's life revolved around her seven children and 18 grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and preparing for the holidays with her family brought her great joy. Ellen was a caring and giving person who enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Ellen will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her family and lifelong circle of friends.

    Ellen was communicant of St. Joseph's Church of New London. Her faith played an important role throughout her life.

    Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. The funeral will assemble at 9 a.m. on Saturday from the funeral home and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
