I have no idea how old comedian Daniel Tosh is, and it doesn’t really matter. He’s one of those guys who, even 20 years from now, will look perfectly natural striding across the verdant college green – he’s the smirking fellow who was actually kicked out of school a while back after he forged the dean of students’ signature and ordered a crate of pit vipers delivered to the Kappa Kappa Gamma house. But he still hangs around the campus because it’s a good place to be mean.

Or at least that’s the Eddie Haskell-style persona Tosh wonderfully perpetrates, using his boyish countenance to clash with the misanthrope dwelling within.

Tosh is indeed mean – but at least he’s hateful and enjoys making racist, misogynistic, homophobic jokes countered by his own self-effacing commentary. Does this reflect his true values? No, but the jokes make him laugh. See him go Full Acerbic Friday in the Mohegan Sun Arena on his “Leaves and Lobster” tour.
