Arcade Fire’s ‘We’ tour hits Sun Thursday

The latest album from Montreal’s indie/art pop superstars Arcade Fire, “We,” seems to be mildly conceptual. For one thing, it’s divided into two distinct sections — or “sides,” if you’re listening to vinyl or cassette — respectively called “I” and “We.”

The processional of gentle, pleasant tunes probably describes an individual’s personal journey to some sort of inner acceptance — so far as I can glean, anyway.

It’s natural to wonder how well “We,” which came out in May, now reflects the current state of the band, which plays Thursday in the Mohegan Sun Arena. In late August, Arcade Fire leader Win Butler was accused by four different people of inappropriate sexual advances. Butler acknowledges sexual relationships with each of the four but claims they were all consensual.

No snide “it’s only rock ‘n’ roll” comments here, but two of the tour openers, Feist and Beck, have backed out. It’s also accurate to say the tour is proceeding with good crowds and reviews.
