Christmas party benefits Stand Up for Animals

Nothing against the justifiably legendary Knickerbocker Music Center in Westerly, which, on Sunday, once again hosts what will be the Ninth Annual Rock & Roll Christmas Show benefitting Stand Up for Animals.

John Speziale will perform at the ninth annual Rock & Roll Christmas Show benefitting Stand Up for Animals.

But, if every animal whose life has been saved or improved by these events showed up for this one, they’d have to move the show to the Mohegan Sun Arena!

As it is, even without the animals — who will all be home resting and eating snacks — the Knick will be full of people AND good cheer. Founders John Speziale and Keith M. Cowley do a spectacular job throwing the party, which features Christmas-themed sets from The CarLeans and a local all-star group called The Friends.

Also on site will be a Strolling Fiddler and Dancing Santa, and a “shop local” raffle and the much-loved Hula Dance Contest are all part of the fun.

The Rock & Roll Christmas Show, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, The Knick, 300 Railroad Ave., Westerly; $15; www.knickmusic.com.
