    Taking a Shine

    Shinedown (submitted)

How many of Shinedown’s #1 Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart singles can you name? They’ve had 18! That’s a lot of platinum post-grunge – or post-grungey platinum, if you prefer.

Let’s take a quiz, shall we? True or false:

    1. Shinedown’s 2020 single “Atlas Falls” topped the charts even though it wasn’t even on an album.

    2. “The Crow and the Butterfly,” which went to #1 in 2010, was originally titled “The Crow and Two More Crows (Wait! And … There’s a Third Crow!).”

    3. After “Save Me” went to #1 in 2005, founding vocalist Brent Smith was quoted as saying, “I’ll bet we have at least 17 more chart-topping hits if by ‘chart-topping’ you mean Billboards Mainstream Rock Charts.”

How do you think you did? The first question is true; questions two and three are false.

Bone up on your Shinedown-ness because they’re playing the Premier Theater in Foxwoods on Friday. Hopefully, you’ve already got your ducat because it’s sold out.

Shinedown, 8 p.m. Friday, Premier Theater, Foxwoods; sold out; foxwoods.com.
