Sue Menhart is a regional music icon — our equivalent of one of those Bonnie Raitt/Janis Joplin/Susan Tedeschi types. For years, with her Sue Menhart Band, she and her full-throttle voice and songwriting acumen threatened to break nationally, and that it didn’t happen was purely bad luck.

Now mostly retired from music, Menhart will, on occasion, and with her similarly talented sister Nancy Menhart, take the stage — as happens Friday at Filomena’s in Waterford. Expect those magical sibling harmonies and fine acoustic originals and expertly curated covers from Fleetwood Mac and Miley Cyrus to the Indigo Girls, Dua Lipa and much more.

Fans know to watch for props and delightful on- and offstage chicanery.
