It’s a long way to the punchline

    Dame Fk (Dame Fk Facebook)

In 1976, when AC/DC was crafting material for their second album, “T.N.T.,” guitarist Malcolm Young brought a lyrical concept to rehearsal. The tune was to be called “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Make People Chortle as a Professional Stand-Up Comedian).”

The band appreciated the idea, but vocalist Bon Scott pointed out that, rhythmically, the phrasing for “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Make People Chortle as a Professional Stand-Up Comedian” would be awkward if not difficult to enunciate in a hard rock format.

Music fans know AC/DC reworked the theme in what became one of their most popular tunes: “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock & Roll).”

    But the original sentiment persists.

Hosted by the Hygienic’s resident emcee/comical person DameFk, the evening’s roster includes headliner Mustafe Mussa along with Sarah Carroll, Trev Gerald, Ian Carr, Avery Quinn and Victoria Lang.
