    Entering the Hall

    Steve Elci (submitted)

The second class of inductees into the New England Music Hall of Fame will be introduced Saturday in Groton’s New York Deli and Diner. The event is co-hosted by United States Professional Wrestling.

Not sure if the above sentences read as … mmm … peculiarly as they seem. But any event that summons diverse images like a pastrami on rye, a double-knee drop moonsault and the finest in local music sounds pretty glorious.

In any case, kudos to several of our popular local musical acts! Steve Elci, The Reducers, the Washington Squares’ Lauren Agnelli and Connecticut College radio station WCNI, which features several long-running and eclectic music shows, will all be going into the New England Music Hall of Fame — and all are certainly worthy of such an honor.

Hosts for the festivities are Extreme Championship Wrestling legend Angel Orsini and WCNI DJ Ali Kaufman. Performers will include Elci, Agnelli and Sinthea Sinatra.

New England Music Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony, 4 p.m. Saturday, New York Deli and Diner, 700 Long Hill Road, Groton; $10; nemhof.com.
