Keith Sweat is in concert Friday at Foxwoods

If you’re going to be a principal architect of a major musical style, would you want it to be:

    1. Swamp pop

    2. Mumble rap

    3. Acid jazz

    4. New jack swing

    5. Tuba metal

As a young visionary, Harlem singer Keith Sweat considered his options and decided on choice 4 — and indeed he became a force in new jack swing. We’re glad he did! (Can you imagine Sweat singing tuba metal? NO.)

Sweat brings his delicately seductive voice to Foxwood’s Premier Theater Friday, and expect to hear "I Want Her," "Make It Last Forever," "I'll Give All My Love to You," "Get Up on It," "Twisted" and "Nobody."

Keith Sweat, 8 p.m. Friday, Premier Theater, Foxwoods; $49 and up; foxwoods.com.
