Putting the ’cue back in BBQ
It seems to me that, in terms of attracting an audience to your event, attaching the term “barbecue” to the title is a guaranteed crowd-booster.
“4th Annual Root Canal and BBQ Festival”
“C’mon Out for Our Delinquent Tax Filing, Blues & Barbecue Weekend”
“Free Brisket & ‘Failure to Appear’ Make-up Date”
Fortunately, regarding the Sun BBQ Fest – Country Beats & Smokin’ Eats, taking place Saturday and Sunday in the Mohegan Sun’s Winter Parking Lot, there IS no “lure” aspect for tangential unpleasantry. It’s ALL fun.
Consider: live music from acts like Chase Bryant, Jon Langston, Nick Bosse and the Northern Roots, Whiskey Boulevard and more will perform all weekend. Over 50 food trucks will be on-hand serving an array of smoked goodness from touring national vendors – plus samples from rib, wings and burger competitions.
And much more!
Next week, you can go to the “Cholesterol-Monitoring Carnival & Mac & Cheese Tournament.”
Sun BBQ Fest – Country Beats & Smokin’ Eats, noon-9 p.m. Sat. and noon-5 p.m. Sun. Winter Parking Lot, Mohegan Sun; $12-$45; mohegansun.com.
