Brazenly melodic
The Day gave the excellent Lyme post-pop band the Brazen Youth very early exposure on our late, lamented “Live Lunch Break” concert series.
Years later, TBY — Nic Lussier, Micah Rubin and Charles Dahlke — continue to work on new, always great material, such as their superlative 2022 album “Eagle, Idaho” album. Rumors are the band has an even newer recording nearing completion, and they’ll be touring the Deep South in the fall with Richie Mitch & the Coal Miners. Nice!
In the meantime, the Youth will play a one-off local date Saturday in Old Saybrook at The Kate. Hometown dudes continuing to make good.
The Brazen Youth, 7 p.m. Saturday, The Kate, 300 Main St., Old Saybrook; with Katie Lynne Sharbaugh; $29; thekate.org, (860) 510-0453.
