Beatriz Williams discussed "Cocoa Beach" Thursday at the Sun

Two years ago, New York Times bestselling historical novelist Beatriz Williams moved to Lyme from across the state. Did she do so to be in the same general vicinity as other bestselling and award-winning writers like Luanne Rice, David Handler, Jim Benn, Jeff Benedict and Doug Clegg?

Well, if one needs to sit and type and look out the window at lovely scenery, an author could do worse.

Williams' latest book is "Cocoa Beach," a sequel of sorts to "A Certain Age," and she appears tonight at Mohegan Sun's Cabaret Theater in the final presentation of this year's Connecticut Authors Trail series. Williams will discuss her work and sign copies.

Beatriz Williams, 7 p.m. Thursday, Mohegan Sun Cabaret; free, books available for purchase; 1-888-226-7711,  beatrizwilliams.com.
