Another weekend means another festival to attend. On Saturday and Sunday, it’ll be a helluva treat for anyone who adores garlic.

Yes, the annual Garlic Festival, held at Olde Mistick Village, is already in its 11th year — a celebration dedicated to, well, all things garlic. Expect to find knobs of garlic grown at local farms as well as jams, preserves and honey featuring the herb (or is it a vegetable?). Local restaurants and caterers will also be at the fest, providing various garlic-inspired dishes, as well as dishes made without, just in case it all becomes too overwhelming.

Also attending will be local farm vendors, artisans and authors, providing things other than garlic, such as fresh vegetables and baked goods. And a number of Olde Mistick Village merchants will also take part, offering their own garlic-y delights — an overall excellent opportunity to snag some of the best garlic around.
