Local musicians perform in support of New London Homeless Hospitality Center

    Ben and Nancy Parent (Contributed)

If you were properly raised, you were taught to say "Please pass the salt" or "milk" or, at our house, "a lot more of that cream gravy and biscuits."

For less fortunate folks, it's not always that easy.

It's inspired, then, that a group of kind and talented local musicians will gather Friday for the second "Pass the Guitar" concert — a round-robin series of performances in Unity Hall of New London's All Souls UU Church. All donations benefit the New London Homeless Hospitality Center.

First set artists are Dogbite, Anne Castellano, Baird Welch-Collins, Ben & Nancy Parent, Golden Ratio, Geoff Kaufmann, Woody, Vincent Tuckwood, Coal Tattoo and Craig Johnson.

After a brief intermission, wherein a Spindrift Guitar will be auctioned off benefitting the center, set two takes place. Look for performances from Dennis Walley, Anna May & Vince Thompson, Bruce McDermott, The Carolans and Friends, Mike Stryker, Sandy Allen, Tim Quinn, Jim Carpenter, Maggie's Guitar and Jake Kulak.

    Pass the guitar, indeed!

Pass the Guitar, 8 p.m. Friday, Unity Hall, All Souls UU Church, 19 Jay St., New London; $10 suggested donation benefits New London Homeless Hospitality Center; (860) 443-0316.
