Groups and individuals in and around New London are invited to participate in “Hands Across Our Community”on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Starting at 4 p.m., people will line up from the west end of Bank Street at the Waterford town line to New London City Pier and hold hands to show solidarity among the diverse groups and individuals in the community. Participants are encouraged to wear New London-specific clothes such as sports uniforms, organization T-shirts or green and gold items.

Mayor Michael Passero will begin the event in New London and travel by water taxi to Groton to continue the event with City of Groton Mayor Marian Galbraith.
