Annual Rhythm & Roots Festival takes place Friday through Sunday in Charlestown
On the one hand, having a big event over Labor Day weekend makes perfect sense, as it's the last big holiday of the summer. At the same time, every other event-holder in the world is thinking the same thing — meaning that the average Fun-Haver must choose between myriad cool things going on simultaneously.
It's hard to go wrong, though, with the annual Rhythm & Roots Festival at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, R.I. Taking place Friday through Sunday across four stages, R&R features some of the biggest and up-and-coming names in roots music, along with dance and music lessons, craft and family events, food and beverage, and more.
A complete schedule is available at https://rhythmandroots.com/schedule, and here's a quick-hit guide to choice acts for each day.
Friday: Pine Leaf Boys (4:30 p.m.), Son Volt (6:30 p.m.)
Saturday: Music of The Band with Dust Bowl Revival and Hot Tub of Cowtown (7:45 p.m.), The Mavericks (9:30 p.m.)
