      Olde Mistick Village will be hosting Scarecrows in the Village this year from Friday, September 29 through Monday, October 30th. Come explore what each merchant has in store for their scarecrow display and support local business! Voting will take place throughout the village using QR codes from October 2-22. Don’t miss out on helping announce “Best in Crow”, “Most Representative”, and “Vintage 1973”, to continue the 50th anniversary year celebration and lead into yet another festive fall season! Winners will be announced Monday, October 23rd, and will be featured on display until Monday, October 30th!

      While you’re enjoying the Essex Scarecrow Contest & FestiFALL, swing by the Connecticut River Museum for a fun and educational kids’ program.
      The event will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon.
      A new program just for kids 4+ and their caregivers, River Tales will include a story, a craft, and an opportunity to visit the Connecticut River Museum. We will read “Crowbar: The Smartest Bird in the World”. After story time, kids will take part in an activity related to the book and complete a mini-scavenger hunt in the Museum.

      The cost for each child and an accompanying adult Museum Member is $5. Non-Members are $8. Reservations are recommended. Children MUST be accompanied by a caregiver during this event.
