Fun for the young at Niantic Children’s Museum
The Niantic Children’s Museum makes you want to be a kid again.
And if you HAVE kids, it’s a place that will make them very, very happy.
The museum has a wonderfully huge array of fun (and — sssshhh! — educational) activities for young ones.
There are animals, microscopes and kaleidoscopes, and places where kids can “become” a fire fighter of sea captain.
The site installed a new BEAM Virtual Playground last year. It rotates through more than 75 floor-projected games. The museum also has a new train table as of 2022, courtesy of funds raised by Niantic Main Street through its Boardwalk 5K.
And note that the first Friday of the month is Dollar Night, and the third Friday is a sensory-friendly evening.
Niantic Children’s Museum, 409 Main St., Niantic; hours 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tues.-Sat.; note that it is open on Presidents’ Day; admission $10 for children and adults, free for members and kids under 1; (860) 691-1111, niantichildrensmuseum.org.
