Put all your eggs in one basket
Come out of your shell. This is no yolk. We are egging you on …
OK, OK, enough puns. We are here to talk about Easter egg hunts.
We are coming down to the wire since Easter is Sunday, but here are a couple of events that kids might want to skedaddle to:
Olde Mistick Village holds it Easter egg hunt, now dubbed the Easter egg scramble, on Saturday. It marks the first time it is returning to the format it had before the pandemic.
There will be face painting from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the hunt will be in the apple orchard, where the young’uns will scramble for eggs.
"As with all our events, the focus is on our community and families," said Jim Holley, of the Olde Mistick Village Merchants Association.
Over at Westbrook Outlets, the Easter Egg Hunts are divided into four age groups and happen between noon and 2 p.m. Golden eggs will hold Golden Tickets, and colorful eggs will be filled with goodies. Pepperidge Farm will provide Easter baskets.
It’s all part of the 25th annual Easter Egg-tivities and Family Market at Westbrook Outlets, which also includes the Easter Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Easter Bunny arriving for photos from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. “Shaman Rides the School Bus” author Valerie Higley will do a reading and booksigning at 11 a.m. inside suite D130.
