But that’s tough to control when you’re writing about Pirate Days, which takes place Tuesday and Wednesday at Mystic Seaport Museum.

Coinciding with a lot of April vacations, this event offers a whole host of pirate-themed activities for kids, from digging for buried treasure to seeing a cannon firing drill.

A sampling of the events (and times apply to both days): play games 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; see theatrical performances 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., and pirate-themed musical performances noon and 1:15 p.m.; complete a pirate adventure course, 10:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.’ make pirate crafts 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; and join a pirate parade at 2:15 p.m.
