The Providence Fringe Festival is bringing its theater extravaganza to Westerly, marking the first time the event has taken place outside of Providence.

The festival, nicknamed FringePVD, will run Aug. 9-12 at The United. The performers will run the gamut from Rhode Island Ukulele Armada to the BIG NAZO puppets, from aerial acrobatics to ballroom dancing.

The fest was founded in 2014 by The Wilbury Theatre Group, and organizers say they encourage people “to attend performances that you wouldn’t normally attend, see things you wouldn’t otherwise see. Keep an open mind, and have fun.”

    The Providence Fringe Festival schedule

All shows are at The United, 5 Canal St., Westerly. Individual shows are $15 per person; an all-access festival pass is $50 per person. Tickets are available at www.unitedtheatre.org.
