    Garde showcases Anna Greenwald’s art

Anna Greenwald’s art is on view at the Garde. (Submitted)

Anna Greenwald, from Manchester, is exhibiting their art at the Garde Arts Center lobbies in New London through Aug. 31.

Greenwald was an artistic child, inspired and encouraged by their grandmother, Marjorie Blau, and first art teacher, Mrs. Keterer. Later on, they focused less on art as other things in life took precedence. But in 2020, during the pandemic, Greenwald rediscovered their love of crafting, making earrings and trying new crafts like needle felting, and started selling their work on Instagram and at local craft markets.

This year, at age 22, Greenwald began painting again. Their art can be viewed 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tues.-Fri. at the Garde and for two hours before performances.

Greenwald will also be doing three separate weekly talks with 60 Summer on Stage students at the Garde who will be encouraged to use the exhibit as inspiration for their own pieces in an art class.
