Foxwoods holds its first Cocktail Carnival on Saturday
Anything dubbed “Cocktail Carnival” can’t be bad, right?
To paraphrase that old advertising slogan: Two great things that go great together.
The first annual Cocktail Carnival is being held on Saturday at Foxwoods and it includes — yes — cocktails and wandering performers that might otherwise be found at carnivals. That includes fire-breathers and stilt-walkers and fortune tellers.
Visitors can also play some carnival games (ring toss and inflatable axe throwing among them) between samples of the pre-made cocktails and shots that will be served in the ballroom and Fox Tower lawn and terrace.
And the drink menu has adult beverages with these intriguing names: Boozy Snow Cones, Cotton Candy Martini, and Blow Pop Martini. The food is certified carnival fare, from corn dogs to deep-fried Oreos.
Cocktail Carnival, Saturday, Foxwoods’ ballroom and Fox Tower lawn and terrace; $25 general admission 3-8 p.m.; $45 VIP admission 2-8 p.m. includes early admission, candy-filled tote bag and $5 food voucher; ages 21+; foxwoods.com.
