    H.S. soccer: Stonington boys keep rolling with 3-1 win over Woodstock

    Woodstock — Jamison Magowan scored once in each half as Stonington remained undefeated with a 3-1 win over Woodstock Academy in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II boys' soccer game on Friday.

    Graham Johnstone gave the Bears a 1-0 lead at the 20-minute mark. Harrison Hoops had two assists, Jason Kilcoyne had an assist and Adam Gibbs made three saves for Stonington (11-0-1, 6-0-1). 

    In other games:

    • Niko Zingus scored a pair of goals while Avery Albanese added one goal and two assists as Waterford rolled to a 5-0 win over Killingly in an ECC Division II game. Harold Fowke and Brent Rutchick each added a goal and an assist for the Lancers (7-4-2, 5-2-1) while Oliver Searle had an assist and goalie A.J. Sachatello made three saves.

    • Jordan Guerra had a goal and an assist as Bacon Academy beat Montville 3-0 in an ECC Division II game. Jose Zuniga (nine) and Nick Donnell combined to make 11 saves for Montville (4-7-1, 2-5-1). Nick Janus and Matt Laliberte also scored for Bacon (6-2-3, 4-1-2).

    • Alex Jacobik scored a pair of goals as Norwich Free Academy rolled to a 6-0 win over New London in an ECC Division I game. Jack Allen added a goal and an assist for the Wildcats (5-5-1, 5-1-1), who broke the game open with five goals in the second half, while Nathan Cherenzia, Maxwell Knowlton and Whenderson Delphin each added a goal. New London is 2-9-1, 1-6.

    • Kevin Vasquez and Josh Asalde accounted for Grasso Tech's scoring in a 5-3 win over Goodwin Tech in a Connecticut Technical conference game. Vasquez had three goals and an assist and Asalde had two goals and an assist. Joel Potter made nine saves for Grasso (5-8). 

    • St. Bernard played to a 4-4 tie with Plainfield in an ECC Division III game. Jack O'Leary scored three goals, Billy Niles scored a goal and Martin Arvidson made eight saves for the Saints (2-9-2, 2-7-2).

    • Ian Kamperschroer's goal in the 71st minute lifted Ledyard to a 1-0 win over Fitch in an ECC Division I game. Jack Woodruff assisted on the goal and Ken Turner made six saves for the Colonels (8-5, 2-4). Wes Jacey made 10 saves for Fitch (6-7-1, 3-5).

    • Evan Getz scored a pair of goals as Old Lyme and Hale-Ray played to a 2-2 tie on the Shoreline Conference. Ethan Harris and Quinn Romeo had assists for the Wildcats (0-7-4) and goalie Ryan Tetrault made four saves.

    • Wheeler lost to Griswold 2-0 in an ECC Division III game. Bowen Baker made seven saves for Wheeler (5-9, 4-6). 

    Girls

    • Mya Johnson scored three goals as unbeaten Old Lyme, the top-ranked team in the Class M/S state poll, rolled to a 6-0 win over Coginchaug in the Shoreline Conference. Maddie Ouellette added two goals for the Wildcats (12-0, 8-0), Ciara Klimaszewski scored once, Danielle McCarthy had an assist and goalies Emily Rivera and Emma McCulloch combined for six saves.

    • Griswold scored all of its goals in the second half to defeat Wheeler 4-1 in an ECC Division III match. Emma Morgan scored an unassisted goal for the Lions (0-11-1, 0-9) and goalie Savannah Johnson made 15 saves.

    • Waterford and Killingly played to a 2-2 tie in an ECC Division II game. Julia Florek had a goal and an assist, Ciana Chiappone scored a goal and Skyler Henry made four saves for Waterford (6-7-1, 3-5-1).

    • St. Bernard lost to ECC Division III leader Plainfield, 3-0. Briana Beverly made 14 saves for the Saints (8-4, 7-3), who were outshot 19-8.
