    H.S. tennis roundup: Old Lyme girls roll to victory

    Haddam — Hannah Wisner beat Abby Larkin at No. 4 singles 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 in Old Lyme High School's 6-1 Shoreline Conference win over Haddam-Killingworth on Monday in girls' tennis.

    Brynn McGlinchey and Emma Bass won at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively, for the Wildcats. The doubles teams of Shannon Nosal and Kellie Sablone, Samantha Caulkins and Emily O'Brien and Emma Danes and Lauren Wallace also won for Old Lyme.

    In other matches:

    • Montville won the last two singles matches to pull out a 5-2 win over St. Bernard in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III match. Rachel Liang, Linda Chen and Layla Wu won matches for Montville (3-2, 1-1) along with the doubles teams of Luisa Alarcon-Lori Li and Joanna Liang-Jie Yi Huang. Aurianna Drinkwater won for St. Bernard (0-3, 0-1) along with Nicole Lawton and Sarah Engel at No. 3 doubles.

    Boys

    • Finn Power, Davon Chen, Eric Gu and Sumeet Kadian all won their singles matches in straight sets in East Lyme's 7-0 victory over Fitch in an ECC Division I match. The No. 1 duo of Sujesh Kurumbail and Jonathan Tan led a doubles sweep for the Vikings (5-0, 4-0). Fitch fell to 1-3 ,1-2.

    • Ledyard won each match in straight sets, beating New London 7-0 in an ECC Division I match. Nate McCracken, Jack Woodruff, Brandon Donovan and Will Reynolds won their matches for Ledyard (5-1, 3-1) along with the doubles teams of Chris Charette-Trevor Hutchins, Jacob Maranzaro-Nick DeAndrea and A.J. Hoth-Terry Zhao. New London is 2-3, 1-3. 

    • Montville swept all three doubles matches and won by forfeit at No. 4 singles in a 4-3 win over St. Bernard in an ECC Division III match. Jae Seung Kim and Josh Postma clinched the match with a win at No. 3 doubles for the Indians (1-3, 1-1). Kyle Keefe, Owen Ou and Charles Anderson won their singles matches for St. Bernard (0-4, 0-2).

    • Grasso Tech lost to Wilcox Tech in a Connecticut Technical Conference match, 6-1. John Bailey won 8-2 at No. 5 singles for Grasso (0-4).
