    Waterford — Sabrina Kobyluck had 33 assists and Ryleigh Gonyo added 22 kills as Waterford swept Woodstock Academy 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 on Monday in a volleyball match.

    Briana Muckle had 14 digs and Angela Colonis had seven aces for the Lancers (3-0).

    In other matches:

    • Fitch improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 25-6, 25-14, 25-15 win over Killingly. Karly Morales had 22 assists for the Falcons while Nyseannah Ishmael added 10 kills, Aria Lupo eight digs and Nora Ryan nine aces.

    • Norwich Free Academy outlasted Ledyard 25-23, 26-24, 25-15 in its season opener. Maya Conley had nine kills and 13 digs to lead the Wildcats while Kennedy Jakan had seven kills and Sidney Meneses added 15 digs and two kills. McKayla Finkelstein had 15 digs for the Colonels (2-1) while Kira Kassim added six kills and four digs and Codee Carroll had six digs and three aces.

    • East Lyme came from a game back twice to force a fifth game before eventually falling to Lyman Memorial 25-15, 23-25, 25-17, 26-28, 15-9. Mya Delesdernier had 16 kills and seven digs, Sophie Dubreuil 10 kills and nine digs, Shannon Pierce six kills and six blocks and Ellie Meredith 35 assists for East Lyme (0-2).

    • Griswold outlasted New London in three tough games 25-18, 25-22, 26-24. Caylee Parker had six kills, eight service points and three blocks for the Whalers (0-2) while Stacy Rivera added five points and four assists and Chaylet Cintron had six points, five digs and four assists.

    • East Hampton defeated Old Lyme 25-11, 25-16, 25-18 in the Shoreline Conference. Taylor Thompson had five kills and two blocks for the Wildcats (1-2) while Isabel Dean-Frazier added 13 assists.

    • Vinal Tech defeated Grasso Tech 25-9, 25-18, 25-7 in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Sherly Caba had 12 digs and five kills for the Eagles while Samarie Delgado added nine digs and four kills.

    • Norwich Tech lost its CTC opener to Cheney Tech 25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 26-19. Emma McKenzie had nine assists, Lily Norris eight kills and Paige Phaneuf nine digs for the Warriors (0-3, 0-1).

    Girls' soccer

    • Freshman Carley Constantine scored the game-winner as Stonington defeated Fitch 4-3 in double overtime. Carleigh O'Keefe, Rachel Sabbadini and Amelia Caron also scored goals for the Bears (1-2) while Vanessa Benjamin and Emma Anderson added assists. Madison Lynch scored a pair of goals for the Falcons (1-2) and Carly Zingus scored once.

    • Aly Kyle and Emily DeRoehn scored two goals apiece while Kaylee Armenia had three assists to highlight Old Lyme's 7-0 win over Hale-Ray in the Shoreline Conference. Lauren Creagan, Lydia Tinnerello and Stephanie Mauro also scored goals for the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0) while Mackenzie Machnik, Alexis Fenton and Katie Funaro had assists.

    • Sarah Bailey broke a scoreless tie with a goal in overtime as Ledyard edged Lyman Memorial 1-0. Lexi LaPerle assisted on the game-winner for the Colonels (2-0).

    • New London blanked Wheeler behind two goals from Cassandra Roman. The Whalers improved to 2-0. Addie Hauptmann made 18 saves for the Lions (0-2).

    • Caroline Codner set up Elizabeth Hannaford's goal in the fifth minute and St. Bernard went on to beat Putnam, 2-0. Codner also scored a goal and Adeline Arvidson added an assist while goalie Lindsey Reilly stopped four shots for the Saints (2-0).

    • McKenzie Gregory recorded five saves and Mya Rheaume had four in Waterford's 4-0 loss at Woodstock. The Lancers (1-1) were out-shot, 18-5.

    Boys' soccer

    • Aaron Muncaster had two goals and an assist to highlight Montville's 4-0 victory over Plainfield. Cesar Amaya added one goal and one assist for the Indians (2-0) while Jacob Rose also scored a goal and Liam Cook had two assists. Isaiah Gallagher made four saves in goal for Montville, which held a 31-5 shots edge.

    Field hockey

    • Old Saybrook scored a pair of goals in the first half on the way to a 3-1 victory over Fitch. Michaela Ellis, assisted by Bridget O'Leary, scored the lone goal for the Falcons (0-3) while goalie Hailie Kesterson made five saves.
