    H.S. boys' basketball: East Lyme tops Stonington

    East Lyme - East Lyme High School's boys' basketball team rallied from a 12-point deficit Friday night, beating Stonington 66-61 to give James Cunningham his first win as the Vikings' head coach.

    Irving Eggleston led East Lyme (1-3) with 15 points, Wade McNamara scored 14 and Liam Williams had 10 points. Jackson Donahue scored 22 points and Will DeFanti had 21 for Stonington (2-2), which led 32-26 at halftime.

    In other games:

    • Kris Dunn scored 31 of his game-high 37 points in the first half as New London built a 54-29 lead and cruised past Killingly 105-55. Dunn also had 12 rebounds for the Whalers (3-1) while Malcolm Simmons and Keith Porter added 14 points apiece. It was Porter's first game after returning from a hand injury.

    • Nolan Long scored 13 of his game-high 21 points in the second half as Waterford rallied to edge Bacon Academy 49-46. Geary McLeod and Mike Martin added 10 points apiece for Waterford (4-0) while Zak Miazga scored 18 for the Bobcats (2-2) and Tim Willauer added 16, including four 3-pointers.

    • Fitch scored the final four points of the night from the foul line, including three by Chris Corum-Giles, to hold off Montville 66-61. Corum-Giles and Jordan McCoy finished with 14 points for the Falcons (1-2), while McCoy added seven rebounds and four steals and Kieron Smith had 11 rebounds. Montville (0-3), which overcame a 10-point first-quarter deficit to pull within 62-61 late, was led by A.J. Allard's 23 points and 14 by Nick Clemons.

    • Norwich Free Academy broke the game open by holding to Windham to three points in the third quarter as the Wildcats handed the Whippets their first loss, 60-46. Chad Vincent had 13 points, Marcus Outlow 12 and Ryan Lusk 11 for NFA (3-1).

    • Griswold beat Tourtellotte 48-46 in overtime in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division game. Tim Martinek scored 17 points, Zach Wood had 14 points and Gage Kudelchuk scored 10 for Griswold (2-2, 2-1).

    • Ledyard erupted for 44 points in the second half to defeat Woodstock Academy 73-52. Darnay Gray led the Colonels (2-2) with 18 points while Thomas Whipple added 14, Jordan Grant 13 and Nakai Northrup 10.

    • Casey Szuba scored 12 points and had 13 rebounds, leading Lyman Memorial to a 79-59 win over Wheeler in the ECC Small Division. Joey Olearnick and Ajay Gonnelli had 14 points each, Keith Chamberlain scored 11, Brian Myjak scored 10 and Austin Creamer had eight rebounds and three steals for Lyman (1-2, 1-2). Chris Fowler scored a game-high 25 points, Corbin Corrigan had 15 points and Tyler Post scored 13 for Wheeler (0-4, 0-3).
