    Four locals make Walter Camp All-Connecticut team

    Four local players, including two from Class LL finalist Norwich Free Academy, were named to the prestigious 2012 Walter Camp All-Connecticut team on Saturday.

    The players were honored during a special high school Breakfast of Champions banquet hosted by the Walter Camp Football Foundation in New Haven.

    NFA senior defensive end Tuzar Skipper and teammate Joey Paparelli, a senior defensive back, made the team along with Ledyard senior defensive lineman Kyle Wilson and Montville senior offensive lineman Jake Basilica.

    In addition, Hand's Steve Filippone and Hillhouse's Tom Dyer shared Walter Camp Coach of the Year honors, Ansonia junior running back Arkeel Newsome was named Player of the Year for the second straight year after rushing for 2,245 yards and 38 touchdowns, and the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the family of the late Jack Hunt, the former coach at Ansonia who won seven state titles in 19 seasons and finished with a career record of 193-26.
