New London's Jelani Lucas lifts 305 lbs. in the squat-lift event during "The Game Before The Game" weight lifting competition between the New London and NFA football teams held at New London High School Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.
New London - "The Game Before The Game" weightlifting competition featured the New London Whalers and rival Norwich Free Academy high school football teams Friday.
NFA's Red team won the event by lifting a combined weight of 12,100 pounds followed by New London Green, (10,865), NFA White, (7,840), and New London Gold, (7,730).
NFA's Tuzar Skipper was the top individual finisher by lifting 1,045 combined pounds in the squat, clean and bench.
