    Brookfield rallies past Valley/OL 20-13 in Class M semis

    Cheshire - Robert Drysdale's five-yard touchdown run with 1 minute, 8 seconds remaining rallied fifth-seeded Brookfield to a 20-13 victory over No. 1 Valley Regional/Old Lyme in a CIAC Class M football playoff game Saturday afternoon at Cheshire High School.

    The Bobcats (11-3) trailed 13-6 in the fourth quarter, but pulled to within 13-12 with 6:58 remaining on Danny Jackson's nine-yard run (Brookfield was stopped short on a two-point conversion).

    Valley/OL, which finishes 12-1, broke a 6-6 tie just 1:10 into the fourth quarter on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Phil Cohen to Chris Jean-Pierre.

    The Warriors had taken a 6-0 halftime lead when Tyler Jayens ran 13 yards for a TD with 5:13 left in the first half before Brookfield tied the game on a 35-yard touchdown pass from Brad Westmark to Gabe Pompette with 43 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
