ECC suspends wrestling tournament due to snow

The Eastern Connecticut Conference wrestling tournament at Fitch High School was stopped after the semifinal round Saturday afternoon and will conclude on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

ECC officials, concerned about the travel safety of its wrestlers and fans after another winter storm began shortly before noon, were planning to suspend wrestling after the semifinal round was completed at approximately 3 p.m.

The tournament is expected to resume with the consolation semifinals followed by the consolation finals and championship matches.
