Reilly, East Catholic coming to The Day Holiday Classic
Samson Reilly, headed to play college basketball at Quinnipiac next year, hails from perhaps the first family of high school basketball in Connecticut. The Reillys have a successful history of playing and coaching at the high school and college levels.
Samson Reilly and East Catholic will play in the third Day Holiday Classic next Monday (Dec. 18) at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Eagles, the state’s defending Division I champion, will play defending Division II champion St. Bernard in the tripleheader finale at 8 p.m.
Reilly and his dad, Luke, East’s longtime coach, sat down with GameDay last week and talked about their experiences, including how mentorship is a major part of the program. See the video on theday.com or here https://youtu.be/TjCXMA0klf4.
The third Day Holiday Classic will also feature the defending Class MM state champion New London girls vs. defending state Class L champion E.O. Smith at 4 p.m. and the New London boys vs. Windsor at 6.
Tickets are $10 (one ticket good for all three games) and may be purchased here: https://am.ticketmaster.com/mohegan/DayBasketball2023.
