    Congress needs term limits

We can end Washington’s overreach. Most citizens agree we should (1) have fiscal restraints on the federal government, (2) limit its power and jurisdiction, and (3) impose term limits on members of Congress.

Congress will never limit its own power. As citizens, we can. Twelve states have enacted identical resolutions to call a Convention of States under Article V of the U.S. Constitution to come up with amendments to the Constitution that could only do those three things. Connecticut does not have this under consideration, because resolution HJ 39 introduced in the General Assembly in Hartford is faulty.

Thirty-four states, two-thirds, have to enact the identical resolution, so we’re one-third of the way there. Any amendment voted by a majority of states at the convention will then have to be ratified by 38 states, three-quarters. A simulated convention with all 50 states went very smoothly. Connecticut needs to join this growing movement. Sign the petition at www.cosaction.com.
