A rain garden grows in Ledyard

The article, “Conservation district using grant to dot eastern Connecticut with rain gardens,” (Sept. 5), was welcome news. In 2013-14 the Ledyard Garden Club created a Rain Garden at the Bill Library in Ledyard. The Garden Club committee used the free "Rain Garden" app available from the University of Connecticut for guidance. A grant from The Master Gardener’s Association, a grant from Pfizer, as well as support from the Ledyard Garden Club and the Ledyard library were all utilized. Since that time, a loyal committee of Ledyard Garden Club members has cared for this efficient, effective, and beautiful Rain Garden. Anyone considering a rain garden at their home or in a public space is welcome to come by the library and take a look.
