I support Martha Marx for state Senate because she embodies the best qualities of our nursing profession: compassion, ingenuity, and fierce advocacy for our most vulnerable neighbors. We need the voices of health care leaders in our government, especially registered nurses, to ensure that our public policy serves to improve the quality of health for every resident of Connecticut.

The decisions made by our next state senator will have far-reaching implications for the health and welfare of our children and grandchildren. As a nurse myself, and the father of a three-year-old daughter, I want someone with decades of experience using science and reason to solve complex problems representing us when decisions about my health care are being made. I want someone who knows the impact cutting programs has on our families. Martha knows because she lives it everyday.
