Concerning the article “Bill barring plastic straws at some restaurants advances,” (March 19), I truly think that plastic straws should be banned from restaurants and at any place.

In fact, I think restaurants around the Earth should ban plastic straws; here’s why. Have you seen garbage/or plastic littered on sidewalks or roads? Well, it also gets thrown into oceans. This can damage our environment very badly; sea creatures and animals can get harmed or get sick.

Also, you never know if one day you may end up choking on a plastic straw! Can you believe that could possibly happen?

In my opinion, restaurants around the world should not provide plastic straws, unless the customer requests it! That is a great way for the customer to decide if they would like to use a plastic straw or if they wouldn’t like any plastic to use.

Reading about banning plastic straws makes me feel that they should be banned.
