In addition to coping with a virulent virus that was neither expected nor welcome, America is also learning the hard way what happens when a bombastic former reality TV host with a penchant for lying is elected president of the United States. As a result of a spectacular combination of stupidity, arrogance and aversion to unpleasant facts and inconvenient truths, Donald Trump has completely botched the federal government’s response to the novel coronavirus, a deadly killer if contracted by the elderly with pre-existing conditions. And yet despite that extraordinary blunder, he has the unmitigated gall to assert that he is not responsible for the mismanagement of this crisis that now envelopes the entire nation!

Lest we forget, it was Trump’s former National Security Advisor John Bolton who, in 2018, dismantled the very agency embedded within the National Security Council that was intended to anticipate potential epidemics and plan accordingly. Fast forward to the present and Trump now claims that he was totally unaware that anything of the sort occurred. Another example of his amnesia when it comes to escaping responsibility for his actions.

What a fraud!
