Day's disappointing failure to feature MLK holiday

Except for a brief note at the end of Dear Abby, I found no mention of Martin Luther King Jr. or MLK Jr. Day in your Jan. 18 edition, which is the national holiday dedicated to the memory of Dr. King and his work. As important as a feature story about the cost of liquor licenses is, I do not understand your omission of any column or story or editorial about this important day.

On Jan. 19, you had stories about local MLK memorial services − at least they were not bumped by some vital story on pet care or potholes. I am sure a Pulitzer Prize for you is just around the corner.
