In this election year when candidates do not seem motivated to present their positions and personal philosophies to voters, I was encouraged to receive a letter via email from Ian Thomas, a candidate for a seat on the Groton Board of Education. Reading it, I discovered that Thomas is a contemplative citizen concerned about the future of Groton and the public schools. I believe the interesting background and thoughtful approach of Thomas would contribute greatly to the much-needed discussion of education-related issues in our town. I am grateful to have an opportunity to endorse the candidacy of someone of his caliber. Please join me in supporting Ian Thomas for BOE on Nov. 2.
