Griswold Republicans face a primary election on Sept. 15. The choice is a simple one: party-endorsed candidates Theresa Madonna for first selectman, Stuart Norman for Board of Education and Peter Dorff for Board of Finance.

They have proven their ability to work collaboratively in town government for a common purpose. Each of these individuals has given innumerable hours of volunteer time to move Griswold forward. They have served on town boards positively and productively, working with fellow committee members to build consensus and support progress: Theresa Madonna on the Board of Education, Stuart Norman on the Board of Education and school building committee and Peter Dorff as the Board of Finance representative to the school building committee.

Each candidate recognizes the pride and value a community places in the education it provides for its youngsters. The connection between higher property values (attracting taxpaying home buyers) and respected schools is well documented. Each of these candidates recognizes the pivotal significance of our schools to all of the town's citizens.

Support them on Sept. 15 to keep Griswold moving forward.
